We are looking for a Marine Diesel Fitter / Technician / Engineer to join our team. This role is suited to someone with mechanical knowledge and an interest in diesel engines, whether you’re experienced or still developing your skills. The position involves working on marine diesel engines, generators, and mechanical systems across a range of vessels. You’ll have the opportunity to work in both workshop and on-site environments, performing repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on marine diesel engines and auxiliary systems.

• Work on fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems to ensure smooth engine performance.

• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on varying sizes of diesel systems

• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

• Work on-site at marinas, docks, and shipyards, as well as in the workshop.

• Keep accurate records of work completed and communicate effectively with the team and clients.

• Follow safety procedures and environmental guidelines.

• Be flexible to take on various mechanical and general duties as required.

Requirements:

• Some experience or knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems (marine experience is a bonus but not essential).

• A strong interest in mechanical work and willingness to learn.

• General troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Valid driver’s license (essential) and ability to travel between job sites.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• A focus on safety and attention to detail.

• Relevant trade qualification is an advantage but not required.

Desirable Skills (Not Essential but Beneficial):

• Experience with inboard diesel engines on yachts

• Knowledge of basic electrical or hydraulic systems.

• Forklift, marine, fitter & turner, diesel related tickets.
