Workfast is looking for Electrical Technician to join an automated facility in Cairns, QLD.

We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our clients high-performing automation maintenance team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and repair experience in a fast-paced environment.

What you need

• Electrical trade qualification (Essential)
• Experience maintaining automated systems, conveyors, or material handling equipment
• Post-trade certificates in VSDs, hydraulics or similar (desirable)
• Ability to follow preventative maintenance schedules
• Sound computer skills for maintenance logging and diagnostics
• Current valid driver’s licence
• Willingness to work rotating shift rosters

What you will be doing

• Operating, maintaining, and repairing automated baggage handling systems
• Performing preventative maintenance to avoid equipment breakdowns
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, jams, and malfunctions
• Participating in a rotating shift schedule as part of a collaborative team
• Logging and reporting using maintenance software
• Ensuring systems are operating efficiently and safely
