About the Role

The primary purpose of the permanent Lead Spatial Analyst role is to oversee the delivery of agreed mapping and spatial analysis outputs. Reporting to the Manager of Business Intelligence (BI) and Geographic Information Services (GIS), the Lead Spatial Analyst will engage with a broad range of stakeholders to collect business requirements, efficiently develop modern web mapping applications, and ensure these tools effectively support decision-makers.

The Lead Spatial Analyst will manage a team of Senior Spatial Analysts, providing day-to-day coaching and mentoring and ensuring the Spatial (GIS) team are effectively collaborating, and sharing knowledge and learnings with their colleagues across the Strategic Services Directorate. The Lead Spatial Analyst will be responsible for the continuous improvement of data sets and reports, ensuring that FRV continues to meet agreed standards and deliverables.

What you will need to Succeed

To be successful in this position, you will have:

· A tertiary qualification in a numeric field e.g. statistics, mathematics, economics, commerce or social science (required)

· A relevant post graduate qualification (highly desirable)

· Minimum of five years working in a data or spatial analyst position in emergency services (or similar) industry.

· Proven experience partnering with and influencing senior stakeholders.

· Strong experience in using GIS Software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise or similar system(s).

· Experience in the use of analysing and combining complex spatial datasets.

FRV’s standard practice is to appoint at the base of the salary range, however consideration will be given to an above base salary within the advertised range based on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
