Reporting to the Head of Workforce Advancement, the Lead Pharmacist - Professional Recognition will drive the ongoing success of the Australian and New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP) and deliver on defined deliverables set by the AdPha Board and relevant ANZCAP program advisory committees.

This role manages key functions within ANZCAP's professional recognition framework, specifically programs that support the advancement and recognition of pharmacy professionals across Australia and New Zealand. The key duties will evolve in response to priorities established by the AdPha Board and Chief Executive.

Your exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities will be essential to success in this role. As a key member of the Workforce Advancement team, your enthusiasm and collaborative approach will help shape the future of pharmacy practice recognition across Australia and New Zealand.

Key duties

Practice recognition and specialisation

Lead the design, implementation and management of ANZCAP programs that recognize the advancement of pharmacists' skills and impact on patient care.

Provide strategic advice on improving the member experience of practice recognition pathways, including digital platforms.

Drive the continual improvement of professional recognition programs and support the broader integration of Specialty Practice frameworks across ANZCAP activities.

Develop and maintain standards and processes for recognising pharmacists and technicians through ANZCAP.

ANZCAP engagement and outreach

Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate regular feedback on program delivery.

Lead consultation processes on new developments and program enhancements to ensure alignment with profession needs.

Represent ANZCAP at relevant forums and working groups related to professional recognition in pharmacy.

Collaborate with education providers and practice sites to promote ANZCAP's professional recognition pathways.

Work with the AdPha strategic communications and member engagement teams to develop strategies that expand ANZCAP's presence across Australia and New Zealand.

Identify opportunities to showcase the value of ANZCAP credentials to employers, regulatory bodies, and the healthcare sector.

Contribute to educational content that attracts new members and enhances ANZCAP's reputation as the leading body for advanced pharmacy practice.

Support the creation of success stories that demonstrate the impact of ANZCAP recognition on pharmacists' careers and patient outcomes.

Quality improvement and innovation

Identify opportunities for innovation and enhancement of professional recognition pathways.

Lead quality improvement activities based on member feedback and evaluation data.

Contribute to the development of resources that support pharmacists in achieving recognition milestones.

Ensure professional recognition frameworks align with evolving practice standards and healthcare priorities.

Required Skills:

Essential:

Aphra-registered pharmacist

Experience and credibility as a clinical practitioner

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders, including volunteers

Highly personable with a willing and positive approach to working within a small team.

Proficiency with Microsoft IT platforms

Desirable:

Experience managing a workplace-based developmental program for hospital pharmacists, such as Resident or Registrar training programs or Internship and/or experience in a clinical educator role in a hospital pharmacy department
