Philanthropy Australia has a unique opportunity for an inspiring leader to join our senior leadership team in the role of Director of Engagement (SA) supporting our South Australian membership base. This is a part-time role for 3-4 days per week (0.6-0.8FTE), based in Adelaide, reporting to the Executive Director, Membership and Engagement, with potential for increasing in FTE as the membership base and offering is further developed.
We are looking for a leader who has demonstrated experience and commitment to supporting philanthropy or philanthropic causes, and who can put engagement first in all they do to help us reach our ambitious growth agenda as outlined in PA's Strategic Plan. More About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, Membership & Engagement, this role will build relationships and engage with the philanthropic sector of South Australia to help drive Philanthropy Australia’s effort to engage a larger and more diverse membership, inspire a new wave of giving, and foster better approaches to giving as outlined in Philanthropy Australia’s Strategic Plan. Anchored in the state’s unique context, this role leads state-level initiatives with a strong understanding of local needs, while collaborating with the national Membership and Engagement team to inform and align broader strategies.
This role will be supported by 0.2FTE of the Engagement Lead (WA/SA) based in Perth, for administrative and larger event support.

Selection Criteria
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, Social Impact or relevant field.
• Demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills; including strategic thinking, ability to inspire others, positive interaction and effective problem solving.
• Demonstrated excellent stakeholder management, with a focus on member relations as well as Board, staff, key partners, and other stakeholders.
• Strong networks and knowledge of philanthropic and community sectors, including Private and Public Ancillary Funds, advisors, and corporate philanthropy.
• Motivated self-starter with management experience, including the ability to work as part of a small national team.
• Proven technical expertise across business development and marketing in a philanthropic or grant-making environment.
• Highly developed written and oral communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Proven ability to prioritize and juggle competing demands.
• Strong IT experience, using CRM’s to report and use data and information strategically (Salesforce a distinct advantage).
