Must be willing to live and work in remote areas, with regular travel throughout the north-west of WA. Regional driving is required.

Our roadhouses are located in rural areas and operate as fully self-sufficient businesses. We cater to a diverse customer base and each location offers a range of essential services, including fuel and convenience retail, food and beverage options, and accommodation—featuring rooms, a caravan park, and camping facilities.

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Operations Manager with a fresh outlook and a proactive approach to drive retail and hospitality excellence. This dynamic role involves overseeing operations at both locations, covering rostered leave for management staff, supporting peak business periods, and strengthening our retail brand.

What You Will Do

As our Operations Manager, you will play a crucial leadership role, working hands on and alongside both the owners and the management team to ensure seamless operations across both sites.

Key responsibilities include:

Driving retail and operational excellence to uphold business standards

Developing and executing innovative retail and food & beverage strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance customer experience

Growing retail and accommodation sales through effective strategy implementation and product analysis

Staff engagement and development, modelling positive working relationships, demonstrating trust, care and respect; managing staff performance across multiple teams, including recruitment and HR compliance

Overseeing roadhouse operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, licensing, and company policies

Managing fuel delivery schedules and inventory control

Leading customer service and cash management processes

Coordinating accommodation bookings and pricing via our online system maximising returns

Managing and overseeing maintenance schedules

Supervising administrative tasks, including rostering, payroll, invoice reconciliation, stocktakes, and contractor maintenance schedules

It is expected that this position will require the successful candidate to work on site approximately 12 days in each 3 weeks. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be required to work from home, or from a Perth based location.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach, with the ability to thrive in a remote and fast-paced environment. Key qualifications and attributes include:

Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) in a high level area-management position in a retail environment, as well as in food & beverage operations

Hands on experience in customer service or sales (petrol & convenience industry experience is beneficial)

Solid understanding of retail and hospitality procedures and best practices, including food handling, hygiene and safety

Strong financial and analytical skills in managing budgets and allocating appropriate resources to ensure sustainable and profitable business operations

Excellent organisational and leadership skills and proven ability to lead, train and motivate your team

Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in MS Office and accommodation software

An eye for detail, strong initiative and a “can-do” attitude

Professional manner and presentation

Approved Manager or RSA qualification

Current WA Driver’s Licence (long-distance driving experience beneficial)
