- Exciting opportunity to join a growth Council and provide advice in conservation management, environmental legislation as it relates to clearing of native vegetation and asset management in support of Capital and Operational Works.
About the Role
We are seeking an Environmental Asset Officer to work within the Asset Planning team to provide environmental advice to the organisation.
You will provide advice in conservation management, environmental legislation as it relates to clearing of native vegetation and asset management in support of Capital and Operational Works that meet the City’s standards and strategic asset management objectives.
A challenging aspect of the role will be working with City officers to provide guidance that is in the best interest of the environment whilst meeting the City’s objectives.
About you
You must be adaptable and ready to take on a challenge. The role would be perfectly suited to someone with the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Science is required.
- Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Experience with relevant environmental legislation and native vegetation assessments associated with clearing permits.
- Intermediate experience in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
- ‘C’ class Drivers Licence.
- Intermediate computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Intermediate communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace including hazard identification when undertaking site visits.
