Utopia Care offers a casual opportunity for experienced Disability Support Workers (DSW) to join us. This is for a 24/7 active roster. We provide a range of NDIS services to our participants. In this role, you would provide high-quality personalised care services to our participants and support them in achieving their personal goals.
Your responsibilities also include:
Supervising and supporting participants with daily living activities and personal care needs, often individually but sometimes within a team.
Facilitating community access opportunities for participants, including social events and medical appointments.
Maintaining accurate documentation to monitor and report on participant progress and health care.
Implementing educational, skill development and social activity opportunities for participants.
Assisting in implementing and reviewing participant's Support Plans to ensure personalised care.
Providing person-centred supports tailored to each participant's goals and fostering increased skill development and independence.
You must be an experienced Disability Support Worker dedicated to assisting people with disabilities. You should comprehensively understand the NDIS Practice Standards and demonstrate a solid commitment to a person-centred ethos. Your genuine enthusiasm for empowering NDIS participants, assisting them in achieving their goals and fostering new skill development should be immediately evident.
Other skill and qualification requirements include:
Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) as a minimum
Valid NDIS Worker Check
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module and New Worker Induction Modules
Valid (DHS) Working With Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR Certification
Current Manual Handling Certification
Current Medication Administration Training
Completed Through Their Eyes Training and willing to obtain
Valid Australian Driver's Licence, Vehicle Registration and Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance
Willingness to transport participants in your vehicle
Ability and availability to work outside of regular hours, potentially including weekends, overnights and evenings
Experience working with people with disabilities and their families/ guardians.
