Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Steel Estimator to join our Melbourne team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on Tier 1 large-scale projects, with a strong ability to produce accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel and metalwork projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for structural steel projects in line with Tier 1 project requirements

Analyze project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to assess scope and requirements

Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure comprehensive estimates

Develop cost breakdowns, material take-offs, labor estimates, and subcontractor quotations

Identify risks and opportunities within bids and provide value engineering solutions

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, material costs, and industry trends

Support the bidding process and participate in post-tender reviews

Essential Criteria:

Proven experience as a Structural Steel Estimator on Tier 1 large projects in Melbourne or similar markets

Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection, and construction methodologies

Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office suite

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

Effective communication and negotiation abilities

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field

Previous experience with major construction contractors or fabricators
