EL1 Management Accounting role with our federal government client in Melbourne

Our client is a government organisation focused on financial strategy, regulation, and oversight within a key sector. Due to some internal changes, an opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join the finance team on an initial 3-month contract.

Your new role

Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will be mainly responsible for the annual budget preparation. Key aspects of the role will include:

• Preparing budget statements and external financial estimates
  
• Responding to government finance directives
  
• Building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders in financial governance
  
• Providing financial insights and predictive analysis for executives
  
• Conducting financial modelling and project cost estimates
  
• Driving process improvements in budgeting and financial reporting
  

What you'll need to succeed

• CA/CPA qualification
  
• Knowledge of financial management in government settings
  
• Experience in budget planning, forecasting and variance analysis
  
• Must be an Australian citizen
