About the Role

We are looking for a Structural Design Engineer who is ready to roll up their sleeves and be part of a team that values quality, problem-solving, and mutual support. You’ll be responsible for delivering key technical design tasks, coordinating with drafters and senior engineers, and ensuring your work is clearly documented and buildable. You’ll also be supported to grow your capability and understanding of real-world construction.

This is an ideal role for someone with 1-3 years' post-graduate experience who is looking to take the next step in their structural engineering career in a dynamic and mentoring-focused environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

Complete structural design tasks across concrete, steel, timber, and masonry

Prepare mark-ups and assist the drafting team to ensure design intent is captured

Review design documentation for technical accuracy and coordination

Conduct site inspections with senior engineers and prepare inspection reports

Respond to construction RFIs and liaise with project stakeholders as needed

Stay updated with Australian Standards and code changes relevant to the role

Support graduate engineers and contribute positively to team culture

Attend industry events and CPD opportunities and share learnings with the team

About You

You're a technically capable and motivated engineer who’s ready to take more ownership of your design tasks and play an active role in project delivery. You thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate clearly, and bring a problem-solving mindset to your work.

You’ll bring:

A Bachelor of Engineering (Structural/Civil) – Engineers Australia accredited

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a local structural engineering consultancy, including: structural framing design including portal frames and industrial project experience; reinforced and post tensioned slab design; timber framing and understanding of AS1684; stability analysis skills for wind and earthquake design ideally in Inducta, ETABs and SpaceGASS

A sound understanding of structural systems and geotechnical considerations

Familiarity with Australian Standards, BCA, and common industry software (e.g., SpaceGASS, Structural Toolkit, RAPT)

Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients and consultants

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines

A desire to continue developing technical and professional skills

Must have a construction White Card
