Your day as a Senior Financial Analyst

A great opportunity to bring your consolidation, accounting, problem solving and analytical skills to support NSW Government Agencies!

The Financial Stewardship & Public Reporting (FSPR) division ensures transparency in public sector financial reporting, overseeing the Total State Sector Accounts (TSSA) and annual Budget data. The Total State Financial Reporting (TSFR) team within FSPR manages whole-of-government financial information, preparing consolidated reports like the TSSA, General Government Accounts, and NSW State Budget, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support the delivery of the TSSA, NSW Budget, Half Year Review, and Monthly Reporting, and contribute to various ad-hoc projects, upholding financial integrity and excellence.

Achieve success as Senior Financial Analyst

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

· Experience from the Big Four Accounting firms or Audit Office (preferred, but not essential)

· Demonstration understanding and knowledge of consolidation accounting processes

· Knowledge of accounting standards

· Intermediate to advanced excel skills

· Prior experience in and demonstrable technical financial accounting skills and knowledge

· Analytical skills with strong conceptual and research skills

· An ability to deal with competing projects and priorities and meet deadlines

· CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification

· Eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Eligibility
