The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing, friendly and hard-working team with strong values and contribute your highly developed financial planning and analysis skills.
This ongoing role will add extensive value to strategic financial reporting and provide sound advice to key stakeholders to valuably drive a range of upcoming projects across the organisation.
Main responsibilities include:
- Providing quality and insightful financial and operational analysis to identify business performance improvement opportunities
- Driving the management of the financial performance reporting framework
- Taking a lead role in cost-benefit analysis and business cases to support strategic investment opportunities that support achievement of the Strategic Plan and improve organisational efficiency
- Developing and delivering annual multi-year financial budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Meaningful financial business partnering with key stakeholders across all areas of the organisation
- Working on a range of key projects such as implementing key metric dashboards to optimise processes
- Providing leadership to a small team
- Supporting the implementation of effective risk management procedures to ensure compliance with legal, employment and governance requirements
- Utilising Workday on a daily basis to efficiently and accurately deliver core responsibilities
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification/s in accounting or similar discipline, and membership of a professional accounting body (CPA or CA)
- Strong, senior experience in financial analysis, planning, management accounting and budgeting
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight timeframes and the capacity to manage multiple projects/workflows at the same time
- A proven track record of leading a range of key FP&A projects, identifying and implementing new processes and systems and bringing a solutions-focused lens to improve business functionality
- Expertise in external reporting, financial accounting, financial modelling and reporting
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of accounting standards
- Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent leadership skills, to effectively lead a small team
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide effective financial business partnering to a diverse range of staff
- Experience with Workday and/or exposure to a relevant role in a non-profit organisation highly regarded
