- Based in Melbourne CBD, a hybrid model of working from home and the office
- $74,100 - $91,962 per annum (pro rata) plus super and salary packaging

Why this role?
The ADF is leading an exciting suite of evidence reviews across the next 12 months and we are looking for a dedicated Research Assistant to help deliver this project. This role will be integral in supporting the development of reviews as informed by our Evidence Framework, as well as provide administrative support for the Evidence & Innovation Business Unit. Day-to-day activities will include screening, data extraction, critical appraisal and synthesis of grey literature and peer-reviewed evidence, in addition to assisting with report writing.
Here's a closer look at some of your regular tasks and responsibilities:
- Support the identification, critical appraisal and synthesis of the best available evidence on specific AOD-related topics guided by the ADF Evidence Framework and relevant procedures.
- Support the development of comprehensive high-quality evidence review reports, presentations and other publications in a style and language suitable for a range of ADF target audiences, including priority populations.
- Support the implementation of quality assurance systems including the ADF Evidence Framework which highlights the evidence hierarchy for knowledge and information publications.
- Manage effective relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of ADF evidence reviews.
- Provide administrative project support to the Evidence Reviews Lead to deliver the evidence reviews as scheduled in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the internal administrative tasks associated with meeting deadlines, including coordinating the internal Working Group, preparing agenda/minutes, updating project status reports and keeping track of progress against tasks.
Who are we looking for?
We are on the lookout for a critical thinker with strong attention to detail and a truly collaborative mindset. Postgraduate qualifications and knowledge of AOD research, policy and practice would be highly regarded.
Other experience and skills that will set you up for success in this role include:
- Minimum undergraduate degree in Health Promotion, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Public Health, Mental Health, Psychology, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence hierarchies, evidence review methodology and quantitative and mixed method research designs.
- A strong knowledge of evidence-based approaches and/or health promotion and public health strategies and methods.
- Strong critical thinking, analytics, problem-solving and organisation skills.
- Willingness and ability to expand research skills with training.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out project work to a high standard within tight deadlines.
