Sunwater is seeking a permanent Boilermaker or Fitter based in Mareeba to provide both maintenance and operational services to our business. While the role requirements are generally envisaged to be maintenance related, other activities including operational activities will need to be performed as and when required.

You will undertake routine mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance, installation and modification work and troubleshooting tasks to restore pumping systems, valves and equipment associated with the operation of pipelines and bulk water storages.

In addition, you will:

• Undertake meter validations and meter maintenance activities
• Install water service delivery infrastructure as required
• Manage contractor activities in conjunction with supervisors
• Have a strong safety culture

We are seeking an experienced tradesperson with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. You will be responsible for the execution of mechanical and maintenance and operational activities to ensure assets are maintained and operated to meet or exceed customer expectations. You will perform isolations for mechanical access.

In addition, you will have:

• Qualifications as a, Boilermaker or Fitter-Mechanic or other suitable trade
• Welding and Fabrication skills essential
• Class 'C' manual driver's licence
• Confined Space; working at heights and elevating work platforms certificates, highly regarded
• Heavy rigid licence and other equipment licences, e.g. Forklift, EWP will be highly regarded

This is a full-time permanent position, starting from $89,103.07 for a 9-day fortnight.
