About the role

Lower Plenty Primary School is seeking a part-time School Grounds Maintenance professional to join their dedicated team. This role is responsible for maintaining the school's grounds and facilities to the highest standards, ensuring a safe, clean and attractive environment for students, staff and the wider school community.

The role is for one day per week, 7.6 hours. This can be split over days if required.

What you'll be doing

Regularly mowing and maintaining the school's lawns and gardens

Clearing pathways, driveways and other hard surfaces of debris and litter

Assisting with general grounds upkeep tasks such as pruning, weeding and planting

Performing minor maintenance and repairs to school facilities and equipment

Identifying and addressing any health and safety issues on the school grounds

Maintaining an organised and well-stocked grounds maintenance shed

Collaborating with the school leadership team to support the overall grounds management strategy

What we're looking for

Proven experience in grounds maintenance or a similar hands-on role

Strong practical skills and knowledge of gardening, landscaping and facilities management

Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

A keen eye for detail and a commitment to high standards of presentation

Good communication and teamwork skills

Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle
