We are looking for multiple skilled lawyers with experience in Family and General Legal Practice. This role is primarily focused on Family Law with some Criminal Law work also required from time to time. You will also get exposure to other areas of law such as commercial transactions and litigation. This role is based in our Brisbane CBD office. This role offers a pathway to senior and partnership positions for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice and representation to clients in family law matters (including property settlements, child custody and divorce) and other legal matters such as criminal and domestic violence from time to time.

Provide assistance to partners of the firm in other areas of law including commercial transactions and litigation.

Talk to prospective clients and provide efficient solutions to resolve their legal problems.

Draft legal documentation, correspondence and other legal documents as necessary.

Attend court for mentions, interim hearings and final hearings whilst instructing counsel.

Attend mediations and conciliation conferences.

Mentor graduate lawyers and assist them with career growth and progression.

Maintain accurate records, manage deadlines and ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations.

Commit to providing high-quality legal services and advocating for client's best interest.

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year PAE experience in Family Law and/or General Practice.

Hold a practicing certificate issued by the Queensland Law Society.

Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiples files simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Smokeball software is preferred.

Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.

Ability to lead and proactively manage billing and client expectations.
