We are a locally owned Canberra restaurant established in 2018 with a focus on cooking seasonal ingredients over fire & smoke. We aim to have top level service but in a casual dining setting. Our drinks offering focus on minimal intervention/natural wines and cocktails utilising seasonal ingredients. You can suss us out @terracanberra

We have some exciting new venues opening in the heart of Canberra's entertainment district of Braddon opening very soon. Creating an enthusuatatic team to lead the next wave of hospitality guru's is our present ethos.

The Job

First and foremost the role will be about creating and maintaining a tight knit team of enthusiastic individuals. You will lead the team and you will be responsible for food and beverage training and help develop the team to the best of their abilities.

You will work closely with owners both of which are directly involved in the business to make sure that the operation runs true to our vision and philosophies.

You will be responsible for all aspects of front of house service, ensuring that all patrons have an exceptional experience when they dine with us.

What the job involves

· Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service

· Hiring and training of staff

· Rostering

· Managing stock levels

· Ordering

· Managing and maintaining standards on our specialty coffee program

· Operating within budgets

· Weekly meeting with the business owners reporting on business performance, new initiatives, pro’s/con’s and relevant issues

· Maintaining meticulous store presentation

· Merchandising and signage

· Keeping up to date with trends in the industry

Who we want

The most important thing to us is character! Above everything else we want someone with character that believes in what we do and that can become part of the restaurant and not just a manager!

Then we’re looking for someone with…

· Full work rights in Australia

· Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role and restaurant

· Excellent customer service skills

· Strong knowledge of wine (preferably natural/minimal intervention)

· Motivated and always has a positive attitude

· Good decision-making capabilities

· Able to delegate responsibility to key team members

· An eye for detail and exceptional communication skills

· Strong computer skills required Microsoft Office and MacOS

· Availability to work a mix of weekdays, weekends, nights

· A current RSA
