Senior Business Analyst (Contract) - Sydney

Location: Sydney (3 days per week in Sydney CBD office)

Duration: 6 months (plus extensions)

Rate: $900-1050 inc super

Start date: ASAP

Our Client:
Our client is embarking on a strategic initiative to uplift their Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities across the organisation. With IAM practices currently underdeveloped or inconsistently applied, this is an opportunity to play a foundational role in establishing improved technical standards and processes. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team environment and work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver meaningful process improvements.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assess and document the current state of IAM processes across critical systems.
• Identify gaps and propose technical solutions to support the development of a mature IAM framework.
• Facilitate workshops with product owners, architects, and infrastructure teams to:
• Understand IAM integration methods
• Map out user account creation, review, and termination processes
• Recommend improvements to integration and user access review (USAR) processes
• Develop and document a repeatable onboarding process for existing and new applications into the IAM platform.
• Conduct a feasibility study and provide recommendations to improve Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Engage with stakeholders across departments to clarify requirements and ensure alignment with IAM best practices.
• Collaborate with technical teams to support solution design and implementation.

Required Experience:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst working in technical or infrastructure-heavy environments.
• Solid understanding of IAM standards and processes, including integration methodologies.
• Experience with user identity lifecycle processes (provisioning, de-provisioning, review).
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory services and Single Sign-On (SSO) concepts.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to lead workshops and work collaboratively across business and IT teams.

Desirable Experience:

• Exposure to IAM platforms such as SailPoint, CyberArk, and Microsoft Entra.
• Familiarity with RBAC implementation or improvement projects.
• Experience onboarding staff-facing applications into IAM platforms.
• Background in process improvement and change management.
• Ability to operate effectively in a newly established or evolving IAM practice.
