Product and Operations Manager - Funds Management (Temporary Role)

Sydney CBD | Immediate Start | 6-Month Temporary Role | Potential to Go Permanent

We are working with a well-established and fast-growing alternative asset manager based in Sydney CBD, seeking a Product and Operations Manager to join their team on a 6-month temporary role. This role is available due to a team member taking sabbatical leave and offers the potential to convert to permanent for the right candidate.

This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the COO, suited to someone with deep product experience in investment management who can hit the ground running and lead across product development, enhancements, governance, and regulatory alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Strategy

• Lead the design and launch of new investment products (listed/unlisted).
• Conduct competitor and market research to drive pricing, positioning, and segmentation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams: investment, legal, compliance, distribution, and marketing.

Product Lifecycle & Enhancement

• Manage the full lifecycle of existing products, including restructures, term updates, and fee changes.
• Monitor performance, flows, peer positioning, and client feedback to guide enhancements.

Regulatory & Governance

• Prepare and maintain PDSs, TMDs, IMs, ASX disclosures, and internal committee materials.
• Ensure compliance with DDO, RG 97, RG 261, and other relevant regulations.
• Maintain robust governance processes and reporting structures.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a central point for product expertise across internal teams and external providers.
• Present to internal committees and support ratings/platform engagement with research houses.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

• 5+ years' experience in product or investment operations within funds or wealth management.
• Strong knowledge of fund structures (managed funds, LITs, SMAs, MDAs).
• Demonstrated experience launching investment products from concept to market.
• Excellent stakeholder and project management skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
• Tertiary qualifications in finance, business, law, or related discipline.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with Australian regulations including Corporations Act, DDO, RG 97, ASX rules.
• Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. CFA, CA, MBA) beneficial.
