Team Leader - Irrigation Delivery opportunity
- Approx. $55-$60 per hour plus Super dependent on experience

About the role
Our client, a utilities provider, currently seeks an experienced Team Leader to join them on a short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 3 months based in the Gippsland area. As the Team Leader, you will manage the irrigation supply infrastructure, systems and delivery services to ensure corporate objectives are met to deliver expected performance and productivity outcomes.
Responsibilities and duties
Key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Ensure maintenance operations are carried out to appropriate industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure they align with service expectations.
- In conjunction with the Health and Safety team develop and implement OH&S system across the workgroup.
- Manage capital planning programs and the development of project proposals, business cases and problem statements.
- Manage and report on capital and recurrent works programs to deliver programs on time and within budget.
- Manage annual submerged weed herbicide program administration, environmental compliance and stakeholder communication.
- Provide high level technical guidance and support in maintenance and construction works.
- Manage the integration and ongoing maintenance requirements of modernised assets within the irrigation district.
- Lead the operations of the Salinity program.
- Overseeing system performance, identifying and implementing system improvements, developing and reporting on key operational targets and providing customer feedback.
- Lead with other Team Leaders, compliance requirements across Service Delivery.
- Maintain good working relationships with stakeholders, contractors, and other service providers.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge and skills that you will need to demonstrate include:
- Extensive understanding of water supply systems and key customer service aspects.
- Develop and implement actions to produce efficiency improvements or streamline maintenance processes.
- Strong leadership skills and can apply these skills to a geographically spread employee and stakeholder base.
- Highly developed and effective problem solving and time management skills.
- Well-developed skills in setting priorities, planning and organising workloads.
- Ability to lead and motivate staff, contractors and service providers.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Current Victorian driving licence.

- The pay rate offered is inclusive of 25% casual loading.
- The anticipated hours per week are 38 (7.6 hours per day) for this contract.
