About the Role:
The Elective Surgery Access Coordinator (ESAC) is responsible for the provision and coordination of patients accessing the elective surgery services at BCH and health service compliance with the Department of Health & Humans Services’ Elective Surgery Access Policy.
The ESAC liaises frequently with Medical Consultants, Visiting Medical Officers, Practice Managers, Operating Suite Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Unit Managers and Executive to continuously strengthen and improve the patient’s elective surgical journey.
The ESAC oversees the pre-admission process for surgical patients and monitors and reports booked theatre and surgical outpatient sessions and Waiting List data as required by the Executive and Board of Directors.
Key Selection Criteria:
MANDATORY:
Entitlement to work within Australia
A Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date
Provision of valid Working with Children Check
Provision of a NDIS Worker Screening Check
Seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health Directions
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse/minimum 3 years’ experience
Strong Clinical Background preferably in the peri-operative area
Previous experience in developing and managing a successful team
Demonstrated ability in data analysis ad interpretation
Well-developed time management skills with ability to prioritise completing demands
Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
High level of computer literacy with experience in iPM
Ability to develop creative solutions to achieve set goals
DESIRABLE:
Experience in elective surgery waiting list management
Understanding of elective surgery access guidelines
