Fuse Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Leading Hand Diesel Mechanic to join our client’s Brooklyn-based site. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established and reputable waste management company, providing critical leadership and hands-on expertise in maintaining and repairing heavy diesel vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of diesel mechanics in a fast-paced workshop
• Perform diagnostics and fault-finding on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and plant equipment
• Coordinate and delegate daily tasks to ensure efficiency and safety
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety procedures
• Liaise with workshop management on job progress, parts, and resources

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Leading Hand Diesel Mechanic or senior-level technician
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Solid understanding of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical repairs
• Ability to lead a team, prioritise workloads, and work to tight timeframes
• Excellent communication, organisational, and reporting skills
• Flexibility to work overtime and rotating Saturday mornings
