Diesel Motor Mechanic

The Diesel Motor Mechanic will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. This includes working on profilers, loaders, excavators, rock crushers, trucks, and a fleet of 50 diesel powered work vehicles.

Core Responsibilities:

Promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

Conduct routine servicing and inspections.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems.

Complete accurate work orders and maintenance logs.

Maintain a clean, organised workspace and communicate job status clearly with supervisors.

Qualifications & Experience:

Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical diagrams.

A valid driver's license is essential.

Experience working with construction machinery is desirable.

Working Conditions: The Diesel Motor Mechanic will primarily work in a work shop environment, which may involve exposure to noise, fumes, and hazardous materials. Occasional fieldwork may be required, including onsite repairs and maintenance at customer locations. The position may also involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet customer demands and deadlines.
