Title: Manager, Beach Safety, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $127091.32 to $147701.84 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

The Property, Buildings, and Beach Services Business Unit is responsible for the management of Northern Beaches Council’s extensive property portfolio, as well as the delivery of lifeguarding and beach safety services along our stunning coastline. This unit encompasses a wide range of services including Building Assets, Facilities Management, Property Management & Commercial, and Beach Services. Our aim is to ensure the effective and sustainable use of Council’s assets, providing high-quality facilities and safe, enjoyable beach experiences for our community.

Our opportunity:
The key focus areas of this role include:
1. Providing strategic leadership to staff, fostering a motivated and productive team environment to ensure responsive and trusted service delivery.
2. Leading emergency preparedness and response efforts, including planning for water rescues, severe weather, and coastal safety risks — ensuring the team is ready to respond beyond standard working hours.
3. Managing budgets and resources efficiently, identifying opportunities for cost savings and service improvements in alignment with Council’s broader objectives.

About you:
We’re looking for a dynamic and dedicated experienced leader in emergency services or coastal operations, with a strong commitment to public safety and community service. With excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a data-informed approach to decision-making, you’ll guide your team with strategic vision and professionalism.

You’ll bring:
