About the role
This significant Lead Architect role places you at the forefront of St Vincent's Health Network Sydney's largest transformation initiative: the Electrical Medical Record (EMR) and Patient Administration System (PAS) Program.
You'll be instrumental in designing the comprehensive technical architecture and overseeing its strategic implementation for the program, making a real difference in transforming the hospital's clinical and administrative health practices.
In this role, you will:
- Report to the EMR Program Director, and work closely with the Technical Lead and their EMR and PAS technical team
- Develop high-level and detailed solution architecture to support EMR and PAS implementation
- Uplift local IT architecture ensuring alignment with EMR and NSW Health technical requirements
- Design integration and interoperability solutions that connect seamlessly with the NSW Health digital ecosystem
- Collaborate closely with SVHA D&T and NSW Health to support scalable, secure, and resilient architectures
- Have a flexible working environment to enjoy, with a 50/50 split of time working at hospital/time working from home
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to combine technical expertise, complex multi-organisation program delivery experience with strong leadership capabilities, effective communication skills and a profound understanding of healthcare to successfully drive the implementation and adoption of the EMR and PAS at SVHNS.
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field and a minimum of 5 years working as an Architect in Information Technology, within a healthcare environment or setting
- Demonstrated experience supporting and implementing large-scale digital health transformation in the context EMR and PAS programs.
- Familiarity with NSW Health systems, governance frameworks, digital health standards, and architecture practices.
- Proven ability to design and deliver solutions spanning infrastructure, integration, and security domains.
- Experience designing systems with HL7, FHIR, and standard integration approaches, including integration of health solutions and technologies spanning applications, end user and clinical devices.
- Experience in designing identity and access management architecture in complex multi tenanted environments.
- A sound understanding of networking, hosting, identity and access and end user computing technologies
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of different experts with multiple deliverables in a large scale environment across multiple locations
- Ability to work on premise at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney Darlinghurst. You will also be required to travel to other sites such as Reserve Road St Leonards as required.
- Strong inter-personal skills with demonstrated success in leading technology rollouts, with demonstratable experience leading a team of technical resources
- Demonstrated experience in project management functions including budget planning and financial management and forecasting, risk and issue management and implementation of governance frameworks to support technical delivery
- A sound understanding of point of care device technologies in a healthcare setting
