Manning Support Services (MSS) is an award-winning community service organisation that has been operating on the NSW Mid North Coast for more than 40 years. MSS is a multi-service not-for-profit, with a mission to enhance the quality of people’s lives by providing services which enable them to live with dignity and respect.

MSS has an opportunity for a professional Customer Service Officer to work from our Taree head office. The position is part time, offering 30 hours per week.

As the welcoming face and voice of our organisation, you'll play a key role in creating a friendly and professional first impression for clients, visitors, and callers. With over 7,000 incoming calls each month, no two days are the same, so you'll need to be confident, calm under pressure, and enjoy staying organised while juggling multiple tasks.

From managing reception and assisting with enquiries to supporting our wider team with essential admin duties, this role is full of variety. You'll handle everything from data entry, scanning and filing, to managing emails and mail, helping process payments, and preparing deposits.

You’ll also help keep our shared spaces tidy and welcoming, and pitch in with internal projects as needed. If you’re a team player with strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help others, we’d love to hear from you.

Selection Criteria

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in reception or administration role

Strong administration skills and attention to detail

Outstanding interpersonal skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Understanding of the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds

High level administrative skills including the proficient use of Microsoft Office programs and ability to use client databases

Current NSW driver’s licence

Reliable motor vehicle (including valid NSW registration and minimum third-party property damage insurance)

Personal Attributes:

Highly professional with the ability to act in a compassionate, non-judgemental manner

A strong desire to provide quality client service

A thorough understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles

Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously

Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise and get things done

Flexibility and ability to be adaptive
