Willoughby City Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Health Team Leader to lead our environmental health team. About the Role
As the Environmental Health Team Leader, you will:
• Enforce environmental and public health legislation, including the Food Act, Public Health Act, and EPA Act.
• Oversee health inspection programs for food businesses, beauty salons, skin penetration, and water systems
• Manage and allocate customer requests and complaints, ensuring timely follow-up.
• Collect evidence, issue notices, and support legal action.
• Support performance planning and development for your team
• Assist with risk assessments, safe work methods, business planning
What You’ll Bring
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or a related field
• Extensive experience in environmental health within local government
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and investigative skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and team management capability
• Solid understanding of public health, environmental legislation, and regulatory enforcement
• Current Class C Driver Licence
Desirable
• Experience in NSW Land & Environment or Local Courts
• Budget management experience
• Familiarity with local government procurement and reporting systems
