About the role

As an APS6 Project Officer, you’ll take the lead on planning, implementing, and monitoring key initiatives that drive agency-wide priorities. Working under limited direction, you’ll support a wide range of activities—from stakeholder engagement to performance reporting—all while ensuring projects stay on track, on time, and aligned with strategic goals.

What you will do

Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and artefacts in line with formal frameworks

Engage across teams and with stakeholders to deliver timely updates and secure action

Analyse data and project outcomes to support evidence-based decisions

Draft reports, presentations, and briefings for senior leadership

Support project governance, risk, and quality management

Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to best-practice delivery

What you will bring

Strong experience delivering end-to-end projects in government or community services

Exceptional organisation and communication skills—both written and verbal

Confidence in using judgement and initiative to resolve issues and manage competing priorities

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Understanding of project management tools, methodologies, and reporting practices
