Your key responsibilities
- Lead, manage and inspire a multi-disciplinary Information Management and Security team with a DoJ-wide focus on uplifting capacity and capability through effectively planning, engagement and implementation of the DoJ new information management platform.
- Provide leadership to staff and encourage a team approach to achieve organisational goals including the provision of performance feedback and coaching staff through formal and informal performance management mechanisms.
- Ensure that an effective Information Security Management System (ISMS) governance framework is effective and guided by professional advice to support annual attestation process.
- Develop, maintain, and foster a high-level of client focus and a commitment to quality customer service amongst staff. This includes working across Divisions to determine their future IM/IS plans to deliver efficiencies and enhance service delivery outcomes.
- Developing and implementing the delivery of fit for purpose Information Management training and awareness to build the department's capability in contemporary Information Management.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability
Information Management
- Advanced skills in using, managing and developing information management standards and policies, and providing expert advice on systems, requirements and information management strategic trends and opportunities.
Information Security
- Knowledge of Information Management Security Management System (ISMS) requirements and standards.
- Information classification and control environments.
- Knowledge of information security trends, opportunities and challenges.
Leading High Performing Teams
- Strong Leadership skills, with proven ability to lead, manage and coach high performance.
Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex issues, identify root causes and propose effective solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through consultation, negotiation, and managing expectations, while fostering collaboration within cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
Governance, Risk and Quality Assurance
- Capability to assess and mitigate IT-related business risks, including supporting information security management systems (ISMS), while ensuring alignment with governance, risk and quality standards.
Adaptability and Methodological Expertise
- Strong project management skills and ability to build momentum and deliver on complex programs of work.
- Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile methodologies, with the ability to adapt approaches to suit ICT initiative and project needs and experience in end-to-end software development lifecycle.
Communication and Documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation, policies and standards, reports and submissions.
