About the role

Dysart Community Support Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Community Development Officer to join our team in Dysart, Queensland. This full-time position plays a vital role in driving community initiatives and engagement within our local area.

What you'll be doing

Develop and implement community development projects and programs to address local needs and priorities

Facilitate community consultations, forums and events to encourage participation and collaboration

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including local government, community groups and service providers

Secure funding and resources to support community development activities

Monitor and evaluate the impact of community development initiatives

Provide advice and support to the community on a range of social issues

Represent the organisation at relevant meetings and forums

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Social Work or a related field

Demonstrated experience in community engagement, project management and program delivery

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders

Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills

Familiarity with the local community and understanding of the region's social and economic challenges

Commitment to social justice and a passion for improving community wellbeing
