Specialising in asphalt paving, we work closely with local governments and a diverse range of industries. Our expertise includes supply and placement of asphalt for local and state government roads, mill and fill works, and asphalt overlays.

Due to continued growth in our asphalt operations, we are seeking an experienced and capable Project Manager with a strong asphalt background to join our team and lead the successful delivery of key projects.

Minimum 5 years' experience managing asphalt construction projects valued at $5M+

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field required

Must hold valid Australian work rights and current driver's licence

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with proven experience in asphalt and surfacing projects to lead the delivery of our key works. You will be responsible for managing all stages of asphalt projects, from initial planning through to completion, ensuring that quality, safety, and budget targets are consistently met. This role requires strong technical knowledge of asphalt construction and the ability to coordinate teams, subcontractors, and clients effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, manage, and deliver asphalt and surfacing projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and commercial targets.

Schedule works, manage crews and subcontractors, and coordinate the procurement of materials and plant.

Liaise directly with clients, particularly within local councils, government departments, and contractors.

Assess site conditions, attend pre-starts, and contribute to feasibility and planning.

Identify risks, resolve issues promptly, and ensure projects stay on track.

Work closely with internal stakeholders across finance, WHS, and senior management.

Maintain current knowledge of market pricing, material availability, and industry standards.

Monitor on-site progress in collaboration with the Foreman and provide leadership to crews.

Support billing processes and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

Contribute to tendering efforts by assisting with pricing and submission preparation.

Identify repeat work or new business opportunities through client relationships.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience in project management roles specifically related to asphalt or surfacing works.

Strong technical understanding of asphalt applications, job methodology, and site processes.

Ability to read and interpret project drawings and technical specs.

Familiar with local contractors, suppliers, and construction conditions.

Proven ability to manage projects to deadline and budget with minimal supervision.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.

Track record of building lasting client relationships and identifying future project opportunities.

Strong understanding of WHS and environmental compliance within the asphalt industry.

Comfortable using project systems, digital documentation, and general office software.

Australian Driver’s Licence is essential.

Must be based in Australia with full working rights (no sponsorship available).
