J & E Asphalt & Civil is a multi-disciplined road works contractor that services NSW. Founded in 1978. We are seeking a Tier 1 Project Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate for this role will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

Multiple years of experience on med-large scale, asphalt and surfacing projects as a Project Engineer;

Experience dealing and communicating with Tier 1 clients;

Organisation and scheduling the works including coordinating Asphalt Crews, subcontractors, sourcing materials and associated pricing;

Liaise with our clients, subcontractors and suppliers;

Provide information for cost data regarding project feasibility;

Visiting and measuring jobs/assessment of site conditions;

Identify estimating project risks and opportunities;

Liaising with the Finance, OHS and Management;

Regular monitoring of market processes and cost trends;

Daily interaction with the Crew Foreman about jobs;

Make recommendations for Business Development in existing and new business opportunities;

Review job cost on projects and compare bid vs. build for projects estimated;

Compile job data for billing;

Assist the tender process and related documentation;

Assisting with pricing and preparation of quotes and tender submissions;

To be considered for this role the applicant must possess the skills, qualifications and knowledge outlined below:

4+ years of experience as an asphalt project manager/estimator;

Understand how to read plans, and possess a sound knowledge of asphalt construction;

Knowledgeable in asphalt specifications, applications, and job execution;

Knowledge of the local contractors and businesses is strongly preferred;

Ability to demonstrate advanced written skills, strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;

Proven record of being a self-starter and able to work under limited supervision;

Proven success in delivering projects on time and on budget;

Ability to maintain excellent client relationships and identify potential new business;

Ability to demonstrate a high knowledge, understanding, implementation and commitment to HSE requirements;

Intermediate knowledge of computer skills.
