The Role

This is a hands-on finance and operations leadership role supporting six branches across South East Queensland, including the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and several Brisbane locations. While the corporate accounting team sits in Sydney, this role reports directly to the General Manager and is fully embedded in the operations, trusted to influence performance and drive outcomes on the ground. In this role, you will:

Work closely with branch managers to help them hit their financial targets, offering commercial insight, coaching and challenge

Lead the regional budgeting and forecasting process, aligning local plans with broader national objectives

Champion improvements in financial processes, data visibility and systems use (Dynamics CE and Business Central)

Track and report on branch performance using real-time data and dashboards to support accountability

Support integration activities following acquisitions, including tracking earn-outs and helping embed financial reporting

Liaise with fleet and procurement teams to ensure each site is equipped with the right tools, vehicles and people to operate effectively

Manage HSCQ reporting requirements across the region, making sure submissions are accurate and timely

Provide operational support to branch leaders, helping them prioritise, problem-solve and plan ahead

About You

You’re a commercially minded finance professional with a practical streak. Someone who can walk into a branch, get a feel for the operations, and translate the numbers into meaningful action. Confident and approachable, you’re as comfortable with systems as you are with people, and you know how to build trust fast. We’re looking for someone who is:

CA or CPA qualified (or working towards it – we value capability over credentials)

Experienced in business partnering, FP&A or commercial finance

Confident working with ERP and BI tools – ideally Microsoft Dynamics

Skilled at working with non-finance leaders and turning insight into action

Proactive, pragmatic and ready to get stuck in

Skills & Experience

This role suits a commercially focused finance professional who thrives at the intersection of operations, strategy and performance. You’ll need a mix of technical know-how, business smarts and strong interpersonal skills to make an impact.

You’ll bring:

Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting and management reporting

Sharp commercial instincts and the ability to turn data into action

Strong communication and influencing skills, especially with non-finance stakeholders

A practical, solutions-oriented mindset, comfortable in fast-moving, growing environments

Willingness to travel to regional branches about once a month (just day trips, in your company car)
