Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving innovation in higher education? Curtin University’s Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking an accomplished Program Manager to lead a major portfolio of work that will shape the future of health education and research at Curtin.

You will help deliver on the Faculty’s commitment to aligning our offerings with the evolving needs of students, industry, and global health priorities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, this role provides strategic leadership and oversight for the design, implementation, and delivery of a complex, high-impact program of work. As a key driver of the Faculty’s “Align and Advance” initiative, the Program Manager will lead major priorities spanning new course development, research partnership growth, and comprehensive curriculum review.
Strategic Alignment and New Course Development
- Oversee the administrative and strategic planning for new course offerings
- Ensure alignment with market needs, accreditation requirements, and industry trends
- Identify and engage a wide range of stakeholders
- Integrate infrastructure planning into course development
Health Research Partnership Development
- Develop governance and financial models for research partnerships
- Identify sustainable funding mechanisms
- Establish key performance metrics and success indicators
Comprehensive Course Structure Review
- Drive curriculum innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Enhance the student experience through streamlined structures
- Evaluate resource needs, financial sustainability, and staffing
This position requires a strong blend of strategic foresight, sophisticated stakeholder engagement, and the ability to navigate and align diverse internal and external requirements. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the Faculty’s future direction by managing critical relationships and leading innovative planning and program delivery that supports our long-term goals.
SELECTION CRITERIA
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant management experience and/or education/training.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated high-level planning, management, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to conceptualise, develop, and review organisational strategies
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence others and build strong relationships
- Demonstrated high-level verbal communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder concerns and balance complex requirements
- Demonstrated high-level written communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive reports, proposals and submissions
- Demonstrated commitment to, and experience in, promoting, managing, and implementing significant change
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a tertiary education environment
Role Requirements
As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.
