An exciting opportunity has arisen for a male Team Leader to oversee the Men's Health & Wellbeing (MHWB) team and its programs at Men's Outreach Services Aboriginal Corporation (MOSAC). The MHWB programs are focused on supporting and empowering our community's most vulnerable adults (men and their families) as outlined below. This role also sits on the MOSAC Leadership Team, contributing to the governance, strategic planning and oversight of the organisation as a whole.
The duties and responsibilities of the position will include:
Manage and support the development and implementation of culturally appropriate programs for clients, family members and community groups, including the Men and Family Relationships (MFR) Program, the Time to Work Employment Service (TWES), the Prison Health Program and the drop-in service for men with complex needs
Ensure the coordination and integration of the work of the MHWB team, and support the integration of this team and programs with other MOSAC programs and activities
Ensure service delivery is client focused, strengths based and aligns with culturally safe, trauma-informed care and practice principles
Liaise with other staff including the MOSAC Cultural Leadership Group to ensure that cultural protocols are followed, and that team practice is culturally secure in the Kimberley Indigenous context
Work effectively to maintain supportive, cooperative and positive relationships within the MOSAC team
Encourage staff development with regular staff supervision and access to training
Establish and maintain strong external stakeholder relationships
Promote the programs delivered by the MHWB team through social media and stakeholder engagement
Implement and manage evaluation processes for the above programs
Manage clinical quality and compliance standards
Work with the Manager Men’s Outreach Service, to provide reports to the COO/CEO as appropriate and ensure all funding reporting and compliance timeframes are adhered to
Assist with preparation of grant applications and Performance Reports
Participate in all MOSAC Leadership and team meetings.
The person we seek
To be successful in this role you will have the following capabilities:
Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team and working successfully with Aboriginal staff and clients
Experience working in the Aboriginal men’s health & wellbeing setting
Skills and capacity to engage with government and non-government stakeholders relevant to the project
Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, /email, and familiarity with client management systems
Experience in the successful delivery of funded programs to achieve an evaluated outcome delivery
Ability to communicate effectively in the Kimberley cultural context
Strong management and supervisory skills.
Qualifications and / or training:
Qualifications in the fields of health, wellbeing, or counselling
Extensive previous experience working in one or more of the following areas: men’s health and wellbeing, individual or family counselling, mental health or community services
Current/ability to obtain Department of Corrective Services Clearance
Current WA “C” class drivers’ license
Ability to undertake all training required for MOSAC staff.

Selection Criteria:
Significant experience managing a multi-disciplinary team, working successfully with Aboriginal staff and clients.
Understand the issues, services and legislation affecting the delivery of men’s health and SEWB programs, and youth engagement programs, including counselling and case management.
Skills and capacity to engage with government and non-government stakeholders relevant to the programs.
Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook/email
Experience in the successful delivery of funded programs to achieve an evaluated outcome delivery.
Ability to communicate effectively in the Kimberley cultural context
What we offer
$111,000 -$119,000 per annum, pro rata as per the duration of the contract (approx. 12 months with probability of extension), 5 weeks Annual Leave with 17.5% loading per annum, Not for Profit generous Salary packaging which includes remote housing benefits, Anniversary payment after 12 months of employment, additional 3 days leave at Christmas and 2 days Mental Health leave, option for a 9-day fortnight, access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and study opportunities.
