About the role

Bold Construction Group & Bold Design Kitchens offers insurance repairs and cabinetry services to SEQ and we are currently looking for an experienced Insurance Estimator, based on the Sunshine Coast to join our expanding Construction Team.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for visiting Customers homes, providing accurate and detailed building reports and then creating repair scopes to help us bid competitively and secure new projects.

We specialise in repairs to mostly domestic property damage through insurable events such as storm, impact, fire, flood, and other insurance related damage.

What you'll be doing

Attending damaged properties to complete thorough inspections and collating data for reporting and quoting purposes

Interpreting and analyzing construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to develop comprehensive cost estimates, while working to achieve KPI's

Calculating material quantities, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs to generate accurate project budgets

Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to refine and finalise estimates

Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and making recommendations to improve project profitability

Preparing and submitting competitive bids to win new construction projects

What we're looking for

Experience as an Estimator in the Insurance industry and based on the Sunshine Coast

Thorough understanding of the National Construction Code, construction methods and materials

Positive, friendly personality with a desire to learn and a great attitude

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications

Relevant construction or trade qualifications - preferably in Carpentry

Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations

Drivers licence as the role comes with a company vehicle and fuel card

Working knowledge of Prime Ecosystem an advantage but not necessary
