About the role

AVTES is seeking an experienced Cookery Trainer to join our team and deliver work based vocational education and training to students in South West Victoria. This full-time role will involve teaching Certificate III in Commercial Cookery & Certificate IV in Kitchen Management under Apprenticeship arrangements. In this role you will focus on meeting KPI targets and providing high-quality training to help students develop the practical skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the culinary industry.

What you'll be doing

Conducting enrolments of students and workplace visits

Delivering structured training in cookery and food preparation training to individual students in their workplace through a mix of face to face visits and online training

Managing appointment scheduling for students training and assessment within guidelines

Providing structured lesson plans and course materials to support student learning

Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills

Maintaining accurate student records and contributing to the continuous improvement of training programs

Collaborating with the wider AVTES team to share best practices and contribute to the growth of the organisation

What we're looking for

Significant experience as a qualified chef or cookery professional, with a strong understanding of contemporary culinary practices and the hospitality industry

A TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent and a demonstrated passion for vocational education

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse range of students

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively to meet KPI targets and quality standards

A commitment to providing high-quality training and a genuine interest in contributing to the success of our students
