Lead College is seeking energetic, motivated, confident and outgoing Diploma of Community Services work placement coordinator who will be responsible from student commencement through to completion.
As the Work Placement Coordinator, you will be able to deliver proficient and operative academic services in the College. You will operate within a team framework and provide high level client-focused academic and student administration support to the College’s programs. The role has a strong customer service orientation and you will work closely with academic and professional staff.
Key role and responsibilities:
- Provide student support.
- Maintenance of all aspects of compliance related to working in the VET environment.
- Support students through work placements.
- Telephone and email support.
- Maintain student records in accordance with ASQA requirements and Lead College policy and procedure.
- Maintain relevant industry skills and enhance these as the industry develops.
- Provide timely, fair, and individual feedback to students on their work.
- Inform students of their rights and obligations in relation to each assessment and ensure that students understand the assessment, its timing, and required outcomes.
- Assist students in finding work placements.
- Attend and participate in trainer’s meetings, as required.
- Read all manuals and legislative documents to familiarize self with all organizational requirements.
- Meet the needs of individual student through the integration of access and equity guidelines.
- Work alongside in intervention strategies and counselling of students with Student support Department and Academic Department as directed by Campus Manager.
- Participate in the student complaints and appeals process as required.
- Note any behaviour of a student considered to be in breach of appropriate behaviour and notify the Campus Manager.
- Ensure that students are aware of their responsibilities under WH&S in the workplace.
- Insist on a high standard of dress, conduct and attitude from all students, and be exemplary in own presentation.
Necessary qualifications:
- Bachelors of Community services or Diploma of Community Services
- Understanding of CWA - Community Work Australia guidelines
- The candidate must have BROAD 3-5 years FULL TIME experience in community services sector
