We are currently seeking an Orchard Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of both financial and operational aspects of horticulture and primary production.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your primary responsibilities will include general accounting duties, plus orchard-specific cost and reporting functions, including:

· Orchard Block Costing and Reporting

· Labour Cost Management and Reconciliation for Orchard Operations

· Chemical and Input Cost Tracking and Analysis

· Assisting with Farm Budgets/Forecasts and Cost Analysis per Block

· General Ledger Maintenance and Reconciliations

· Statutory Compliance

· Payroll and HR Support

· KPI Reporting

· Assisting with Accounts Payable tasks from time to time

· Assisting with month end reporting

This role offers a unique opportunity to blend typical accounting responsibilities with in-depth involvement in orchard operations and cost management. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the financial visibility and decision-making of our orchard division.

Requirements:

· Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as an Accountant or Finance Officer

· Basic understanding of double-entry accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting

· Experience with monthly and annual financial statements and payroll functions

· Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (essential)

· Proficiency in Xero and strong Microsoft Excel skills
