About Main Roads Western Australia:

At Main Roads, we are committed to delivering a world-class road network and creating positive, lasting impacts for WA communities. We play a critical role in overseeing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of major roads and highways across the State. This includes managing traffic flow, ensuring road safety, and supporting infrastructure projects to improve transport efficiency.

About the role

Main Roads is seeking a proactive and experienced Cyber Security Operations Co-ordinator to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team. This is a core member of the ICT Cyber Security Team operating within the Information Management Branch at Main Roads and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the Cyber Security posture of Main Roads.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead the Cyber Security Operations functions and Teams

Management and operation of security tooling and configurations across ICT services

Prioritise and diagnose security breaches, conduct root cause analysis, and oversee security incident investigation, resolution and prevention

Monitor, assess, and assist in improving information systems security

Main Roads has a dynamic evolving ICT and ITS environment, and it is critical that we operate a robust and effective Cyber Security function. To lead the Security Operations team, we are looking for a dedicated, proactive and pragmatic Security Leader, with strong technical skills and experience. You will be working closely with other Cuber Security Team members, our Managed Service Provider staff and external SOC staff to co-ordinate security incident detection and response. To be effective in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities and the tenacity to see the resolution of issues through to satisfactory conclusion. Furthermore, your previous managerial experience will help us build and expand the Team!

While this is primarily a technical role, business engagement is a key component of the position; you will also need to be customer focused, with experience in internal and external stakeholder engagement. As a team leader, you will be experienced in managing and supporting team staff to achieve required outcomes.

At Main Roads, we are committed to your professional growth. Whether you are looking to enhance your career or make an impactful change, this role offers exciting opportunities to develop your skills and drive meaningful change within a forward-thinking organisation.

Connecting people and places....

The transport portfolio isn't just about roads, boats, plains or trains.

It's about people.

People who need to get to work, home and everywhere in between and businesses that rely on road, rail, air and sea to deliver billions of dollars in goods and services each year.

An integrated and optimised transport network will give the Western Australian Community more choice and improve the quality of our lives and our environment.

Since 2010, WA's three key transport agencies - Main Roads, Department of Transport and Public Transport Authority - have worked together to enhance the coordination of operations and develop unified policies and regulatory functions.

The agencies each have different responsibilities and together they strive to provide world-class outcomes for our customers, all West Australians and visitors to our stage, through integrated transport systems and services.
