Responsibilities
As Senior Estimator, your core duties will include: Leading the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates for solar hybrid projects, including detailed analysis of materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services. Reviewing project documentation, technical drawings, and specifications to identify cost drivers, risks, and opportunities for value engineering. Collaborating with project development, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to gather accurate pricing, negotiate terms, and optimise project budgets. Engaging with external stakeholders, including suppliers and contractors, to ensure competitive and reliable cost inputs. Supporting the development team in preparing robust financial models and bid submissions, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance standards. Maintaining up-to-date records of cost data, benchmarking, and market trends to inform project strategy and reporting. Mentoring junior estimators and contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools. Ensuring all estimates comply with Australian standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements relevant to the renewable energy sector.

Skills Required

Technical Skills:
Extensive experience estimating costs for renewable energy projects, particularly solar hybrid developments in Australia. Strong understanding of solar PV, battery energy storage, and hybrid system technologies. Proficiency in cost estimation software and advanced Excel skills. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contracts. Familiarity with Australian regulatory, grid, and compliance requirements for renewable projects.

Soft Skills:
