About this Program

Wellways programs in the ACT offer Step Up, Step Down at Home outreach support to people with mental distress living within the ACT.

The program is delivered under an identified peer supported delivery model and aims to improve mental health outcomes for the target group as well provide opportunities to increase knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage future crisis, through increased awareness of, and capacity to access community resources and support networks, as well as education and training and employment where appropriate.

About the opportunity

The role of the Team Leader is to support the Regional Manager in ensuring the team is well skilled and developed and aligned for the successful delivery of the program's goals and objectives.

Among other duties, the team leader supports the program outcomes to ensure that the program provided reflects the core Wellways values, ensures the on-going review of consumer needs to maintain an effective service aligned with need and ensures that each staff member is appropriately orientated, supported, supervised, and developed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Lived experience of mental health challenges, you will share your lived experiences of mental health challenges to inspire hope and encouragement in the recovery journey of community members.

You will also need:

• Tertiary level qualifications in Mental Health, Community Services or Peer Work Current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake travel for the role
• Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
• Right to Work within Australia
• Satisfactory National Police Records Check
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
