We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a skilled and motivated tradesperson who is ready to take the next step in their career and lead a small crew on-site. You’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site activities, ensuring projects are completed to a high standard, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and apprentices on-site

Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to complete works accurately

Carry out high-quality carpentry work including framing, fix-out, and finishing

Coordinate with site supervisors, other trades and subcontractors

Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with WHS standards

Manage materials and ensure efficient use of resources

Provide mentoring and guidance to apprentices and junior team members

Maintain a clean, organised and safe worksite

Skills and Experience

Trade qualified carpenter with a minimum of 5 years’ on-the-tools experience

Proven experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role

Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and WHS practices

Ability to read and interpret construction plans

High attention to detail and workmanship

Strong communication and organisational skills

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

White Card (Construction Induction)

Current driver’s licence and reliable transport

Own tools (or willing to acquire)
