Responsibilities:

• Develop and sustain tailored risk tools, reporting, and procedures that align with the specific needs of the directorate.
• Lead regular reviews and assessments to help teams identify, evaluate, and respond to operational risks.
• Collaborate closely with leaders and different business units to strengthen understanding of risk and integrate it into planning and service execution.
• Assist in reviewing and refining internal controls, focusing on their effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
• Oversee the process for managing incidents, issues, and near misses, including root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
• Contribute risk perspectives to business continuity planning, change initiatives, and procurement processes.
• Provide regular risk updates and summaries to leadership and the Line 2 Risk team.

What you'll need to succeed:

• At least 5 years of experience in operational risk management, service delivery, compliance, or governance roles
• Demonstrated ability to implement and apply risk frameworks in a practical, hands-on way.
• Strong understanding of operational risk concepts including incident management, controls, and business continuity.
• Experience working in or with aged care or community services, NFP, or health and human services sectors.
• Proven stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
