Currently, there are around 5.5 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 717,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

The NDIA is currently seeking to fill multiple APS6 roles within the Chief Commercial and Corporate Officer Division.

The Chief Commercial and Corporate Officer Division is responsible for the delivery of travel, fleet vehicles, operational climate sustainability reporting, information management, mail, procurement, property, and shared services account management .
We coordinate a range of Agency planning and reporting processes, key agency publications such as the Annual Report and Corporate Plan as well as support a continuous improvement programme for the Enabling Services Group. This Division is also responsible for the delivery of transformation and improvement services to improve systems and processes across Agency enabling services.

APS6 Business Improvement

Responsibilities of the role may include:

  • Attend and contribute to workshops and meetings to identify and understand problems.
  • Assist in implementing Portfolio and Program Management, Governance, and controls frameworks.
  • Support adherence to project delivery frameworks and ensure output meets customer requirements.
  • Engage in operational model development, process optimisation, and performance analysis and reporting.

APS6 Corporate Operations

Responsibilities of the role may include:

  • Providing specialist advice and support to NDIA staff of travel, fleet, contract management, mail and other corporate operations matters.
  • Engaging with Services Australia on NDIA operational matters relating to contract management, travel, and fleet issues including leasing arrangements and all other vehicle maintenance matters.
  • Undertaking team planning, task assignment and monitoring activities to support delivery and completion of work.
  • Tracking, monitoring and reporting on section workload and managing stakeholder inquiries.

APS6 Information Knowledge Management

Responsibilities of the role may include:

  • Providing leadership and direction based on business area priorities to the team.
  • Maintaining, applying and disseminating specialist knowledge of NDIA’s legislative obligations relating to records and information management.
  • Driving the development and maintenance of policies and processes to ensure records and information management compliance.
  • Providing specialist information management advice and recommendations to individuals and teams across the Agency.

APS6 Procurement

Responsibilities of the role may include:

  • Working collaboratively with NDIA business areas as a procurement business partner to establish appropriate procurement methodologies, preparing a range of procurement documentation, evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts.
  • Managing and undertaking procurement reporting and verification activities, and processing procurements through the financial management system.
  • Maintaining and implementing procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Contributing to procurement planning activities within the wider Procurement Team and across the Agency.

APS6 Property

Responsibilities of the role may include:

  • Working with internal and external stakeholders, undertaking property submissions and acquisition of new property or shared premises arrangements with other co-location partners.
  • Undertaking block and stack activities, and managing site moves in consultation with all stakeholders and business areas.
  • Managing projects and contracts for enabling services including budget management, scope development and contract administration.
  • Providing NDIA staff with advice and support for fleet, mail and other corporate operations matters.

While these roles are ideally performed from VIC – Geelong, QLD – Brisbane or ACT - Deakin, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
