Shoalhaven Campus or Southern Highlands Location

The Graduate School of Medicine’s (GSM) purpose is to improve health and wellbeing through best practice medical education and meaningful research. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is delivered primarily on three campuses located in Wollongong, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands, as well as in numerous rural sites throughout NSW.

About the role:

We are seeking part-time Lecturers or Senior Lecturers to support the delivery and development of Case-Based Learning (CBL) within the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. This includes developing documentation and learning resources for both new and existing CBL activities, teaching whole-group and small-group sessions, supporting the engagement and training of other CBL facilitators, and contributing to relevant assessment processes.

About you:

To be successful you will be medically qualified with eligibility for unconditional registration as a medical practitioner within NSW and have experience in rural or regional medical practice. You should demonstrate an understanding of inquiry-based learning approaches (such as PBL, CBL, or TBL), and a strong background in both large and small group teaching within academic or clinical settings. A demonstrated commitment to student development, effective teamwork, strong communication skills, and proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning are also essential.

We welcome applications from educators who are student-focused, have a strong understanding of the Graduate School of Medicine’s mission, and demonstrate the ability to effectively engage and motivate learners while representing the University of Wollongong and the GSM with professionalism.

Whether you're returning to the workforce, balancing clinical practice, or seeking part-time academic engagement, we encourage you to apply—job-sharing options are available.

How to apply:

* The successful candidate will be appointed as Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) commensurate with qualifications and experience.

As part of the application process, you will be prompted to complete a selection criteria questionnaire, including your preferences for work location and job-sharing. Please also attach your CV to your application.
