We are looking for a practical, hands-on team member to join our Parks & Natural Environment Department as an Asset Maintenance Officer. If you enjoy working outdoors, have a keen eye for detail, and take pride in contributing to well-maintained and welcoming public spaces, this could be the perfect role for you.

Why you'll love this role and what you'll do:

Working with and in a great team as an Asset Maintenance Officer, you will help maintain and enhance the quality, safety, and functionality of park infrastructure across Banyule's open spaces. Reporting to the Sportsfields & Open Space Assets Coordinator, you'll undertake a variety of asset maintenance tasks and support broader horticultural and landscaping activities. You'll:

  • Carry out routine installation, maintenance, servicing, and repairs on Councils park assets, seating, fencing, pathways etc.
  • Undertake scheduled inspections of park assets and furniture and assist in the preparation of maintenance reports.
  • Assist other staff in general horticultural and landscape construction duties.

Who and what we are looking for:

  • You'll have relevant experience in the field of carpentry / general maintenance.
  • You'll be a competent and safe operator of power tools associated with carpentry
  • Basic operation of small mowers, brush cutters, edgers, chainsaws and other small machinery.
  • An understanding of/or aptitude in Field Technology (Electronic Tablets)

What we offer:

  • A permanent full-time position with a fortnightly RDO
  • Salary $69,844.20 per annum plus super.

  • Medium Rigid Drivers' License
