Business Systems Coordinator
Complete Staff Solutions together with Lismore City Council are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Business Systems Coordinator to lead our Business Systems team within the Technology and Innovation section. This pivotal role is ideal for someone who is passionate about driving system efficiencies, providing expert technical support, and delivering high impact outcomes across the organisation.
About the Role
This position is a key member of the Technology Services program area, reporting to the Manager Technology and Innovation. This position manages and coordinates the business systems team in the service delivery of expert technical services and advice on all aspects of Council’s technology and business systems, GIS, websites and associated third-party products. It also oversees and provides technical support to other business systems within Council as required. This role is very hands-on with technical delivery, with a strong emphasis on SQL and system integration.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor budgets effectively to ensure alignment with project and organisational goals.
Drive Council’s data and reporting capabilities forward by transforming manual processes into automated solutions using SSRS, SQL, and Power BI, increasing business accuracy and efficiency.
Apply substantial experience in business systems, operations, and processes to deliver strategic outcomes.
Use advanced problem solving and analytical skills to address complex issues and manage complaints and enquiries diplomatically.
Demonstrate a high level of self motivation and initiative to deliver complex projects and tasks within agreed timeframes.
Build and maintain strong, respectful, and collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders through excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Prepare high quality written materials including policies, reports, and project documentation.
Lead ongoing reviews of procedures, processes, and systems to drive continuous business improvement and enhance whole of business service delivery.
Manage competing priorities effectively through strong planning, organisational, and administrative capabilities.
Model Council’s values and leadership principles to foster a collaborative, effective team culture.
Plan, monitor, and evaluate team performance in alignment with budget and productivity targets.
Lead, coach, mentor, and empower a high performing, customer-focused team.
Perform tasks as directed, aligned with your skills, qualifications, and experience.
Manage resources, assets, and finances responsibly.
Comply with Council’s Code of Conduct, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Work Health and Safety policies.
Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all Council business in relevant systems according to required standards.
Qualifications & Experience
A tertiary qualification relevant to Information Technology / Systems or a similar discipline or equivalent industry experience with at least five (5) years’ work / practical experience in a similar role in Information Systems
Proven technical expertise with SQL, SSRS and Power BI
Experience working with Azure, Power Apps and Power Automate
Strong business analysis or project management background
Leadership experience in a similar role with a strong service orientation
Ability to manage budgets, lead projects and improve reporting processes
Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
Class C Driver’s Licence
