RPC Diesel and Hydraulics have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our family owned and operated business based in Townsville.

We are looking for someone who’s keen to get stuck into a mix of workshop and on-the-road jobs. If you like a bit of variety, enjoy working with a good crew, and want a role where your skills are appreciated — this could be a great fit.

To offer:

· $45 - $55/hr + super (depending on experience)

· Company field service vehicle supplied

· Immediate start

· Permanent full time or casual position available

· 40+ hour work week with overtime available.

Key responsibilities include:

· Carry out scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs

· Fault finding repairing and/or replacing components as required

· Maintaining plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations and site requirements

· Maintain a clean and tidy workshop

· Participate in offsite breakdowns if required

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

· Trade-qualified mechanic (Diesel Fitter/ Truck Mechanic)

· Have experience working on a wide range of heavy trucks and machinery

· Experience working on side lift waste trucks, front lift and hook lift trucks is desirable but not essential.

· Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

· A can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to high quality standards

· Efficient communication skills to liaise with clients and team members

· Be willing to supervise and mentor an apprentice

· Sound computer skills including experience with electronic purchase orders and timesheets

· Hold a current C Class driver’s licence - MR/HR licence is desirable but not essential
